Catherine "Cat" Dorothy Shelvin

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Catherine Dorothy Shelvin, 55, who died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Corey Campeaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Bretlan Shelvin, Felton Wiltz, Jr., Kenny Shelvin, Darrick Shelvin, Brodric Fletcher and Joseph Francis. Honorary pallbearers will be Angelo Shelvin and Braylon Callahan.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kizzy Shelvin Freddie of Crowley and Kim Shelvin of Lafayette; father, Lawrence Shelvin, Sr.; brother, Angelo Shelvin; three sisters, Regina Gabriel, Jennie Shelvin and Jocelynn Shelvin; aunt, Carolyn Moss; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Majorie Moss Toon; two brothers, Lawrence Shelvin and Paul Michael Shelvin; aunt, Margaret Kiah; maternal grandparents, Eugina Reaux and Walter Moss; paternal grandparents, Martha Ringo and Paul Shelvin; and two step-sisters, Mary Ann Thibodeaux and Margaret Levine.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
