Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Phillip James Chauvin, 39, who died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Baudoin Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

He is survived by parents, Shirley S. and Rodney James Chauvin of Kaplan; one sister, Phyllis and her husband Louis Gary of Erath; two nephews, James Phillip Moreland and Evan Louis Gary both of Erath; godfather, Patrick Schexnaider of Kaplan; godmother, Barbara Trahan of Erath; two uncles, Ralph Chauvin Jr. and Raywood Chauvin both of Abbeville; two aunts, Romona Harrington of Abbeville and Rebecca LeBlanc of Cow Island; numerous cousins and friends and his dog, Jolie.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Felicia Anne Chauvin; maternal grandparents, Nella and Willie Schexnaider; paternal grandparents, Delta Mae Landry and Ralph Walter Chauvin Sr.; and one aunt, Rose Marie Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6 p.m.; Saturday, November 17, from 8 a.m. until services.
