Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Anna Gilbert Stewart, 72, who died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Joseph Hebert officiating the services. Pallbearers will be her six grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Lachaussee and Randy LeBlanc.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Flowers of Broussard, Rena Johnson and husband Danny of Minnetonka MN and Tonya Domangue and husband Anthony of Houma; brother, Bobby Gilbert and wife Francis of Shreveport; seven grandchildren, Erin Pontiff and partner Candance Moore, SSG Derick Eidahl and wife Jessica, Chasse Leger, Bryce Flowers and companion Misty Trahan, Brock Eidahl and companion Tammy Fritzen, Hunter Leger and Brandy Quinn and husband Tony; twelve great grandchildren; close family friend, Effie Hernandez; numerous nieces and nephews and her loving dogs, J.R. and Poco.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Ray Stewart; son, James "Rook" Stewart; father, Dewey Jennings Gilbert; mother, Mildred McKeever Gilbert; granddaughter, Shana Leger and a infant brother.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, November 22, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, November 23, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lamm Home Heath Care Services, especially her nurse and her aid, Trish and Fredia.
