Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at a 10a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Drozin Nunez, 89, who died Monday, November 26, 2012. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend D. Blaine Clement officiating the services
Mr. Nunez passed away peacefully at the Louisiana War Veterans’ Home in Jennings, Louisiana. He was a resident there for the past three and a half years. He was a veteran having served in World War II in the United States Coast Guard. He was employed by Hunt Oil Company for 36 years.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elsie M. Campbell of Kaplan; one son, Ronnie Nunez and his wife Sarah of Rayne; three daughters, Diana Johnston of Indian Bayou, Kathy and her husband Ray Morgan of Huntsville, Alabama, Charlotte and her husband Mark Duhon of Kaplan; eleven grandchildren, Tammy J. and her husband David Ledet of Dallas, Texas, Shane Johnston and his wife Debbie of Austin, Texas, Jenny Johnston of Lafayette, Joshua Johnston of San Antonio, Texas, Mandy Johnston of Indian Bayou, Matthew Morgan and his wife Kelly of Ardmore, Alabama, Eric Morgan of Fort Worth, Texas, Ben Morgan of Birmingham, Alabama, Shannon Nunez and his wife Chantel of Lexington, South Carolina, Heidi D. and her husband Blake Levgerne of Kaplan and Blake Duhon of Lafayette; and twenty great grandchildren .
He was preceded in death by his parents Asa Nunez and the former Elodie Bourque; three brothers, Whitney, John and Asa Nunez; and four sisters, Eula N. Guidry, Beulah N. Marceaux, Rita N Nunez and Louise N. Stacey.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6 p.m.; Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for church.
