Robert Lee Dartez

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Robert Lee Dartez, 85, who died Monday, December 3, 2012 at his residence.

He will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with Reverend Scott DesOrmeaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Lenny Dartez, Cordell Dartez, Donald Broussard, Sammy Theriot, Jason Nickel and Justin Nickel. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Boudreaux and Paul Duhon.

He is survived by his daughter, Pauline Phyllis Nickel and her husband, Jack of Crowley; special friend and referred to as his other daughter, Pam January; two grandsons, Jason Nickel and his wife, Kelli Abshire of Kaplan, and Justin Nickel of Crowley; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary LeMaire Dartez; parents, Gabriel Dartez and the former Laurence Baudoin; and siblings, Optaire Dartez, Opta Dartez, Treville Dartez, Rena Dartez, Whitney Dartez, Gabriel Dartez, Jr., Dorothy Mae Dartez, Ivy Dartez, Remy Dartez and Saul Dartez.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church. A family luncheon will follow the burial at St. Alphonsus Church Hall.
