Joseph Edier Frederick

services will be held Saturday, February 02, 2008 at an 11 :00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa Catholic Church honoring the life of Joseph Edier Frederick, 85, who died January 30, 2008 at Belle Teche Nursing Home in New Iberia.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Chester Arceneaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Billy Mayer, Christopher Frederick, Thomas Frederick, Derek Williams, Danny Trahan and Chris Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Julie Mayer Williams, Paige Frederick, Heidi Frederick, Caitlyn Mayer, Jacielee Mayer, Mackenzie McClain and Kayla Williams.
Joseph was a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church. He also was a lector and eucharistic minister. He was a member of the American Legion Vermilion Post #29.
He is survived by his wife, Armosa Stelly Frederick; three sons, Marvin Lee Frederick, Charlie Frederick and Tommy Frederick and his wife Stacey; one daughter, Marlene F. Mayer and her husband Bobby; three sisters, Lena F. Desormeaux and her husband Eddie, Elvina F. Campbell and Marjorie F. Stelly; one special sister-in-law, Evelyn C. Stelly; six grandchildren, Billy Mayer, Julie Mayer Williams, Thomas Frederick, Paige Frederick, Christopher Frederick and Heidi Frederick; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Frederick and Victoria Bourque Frederick; three brothers, Ullyses Frederick, Paul Didier Frederick and Lloyd Frederick; and four sisters, Eunice F. Savoy, Josephine F. Devillier, Della F. Savoy and Adele F. Hebert.
A special thanks to the staff of Belle Teche Nursing Home who provided special care to Paw-Paw in his time of need.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Friday, February 1 st from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 2nd from 8:00 am until time of service.
