Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Randal Dale Stelly, 64, who died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. He will be laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.
Randal was a crane operator for 40 years and was also a volunteer for the District 13 Fire Department. He enjoyed welding and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Laura L. Stelly of Forked Island; three sons, Jeromy Stelly and his wife, Wanda of Forked Island, Chad Stelly and his wife, Chantina of Forked Island, and Toby Stelly and his wife, Danielle of Nunez; two daughters, Christy Guidry and her husband, Tommy of Leroy and Laurisa Nugier and her husband, Ned of Nunez; his father, Clifford Stelly of Forked Island; three sisters, Dena Gaspard, Charlene Toups, and Mona Bernard, all of Forked Island; three brothers, Blaine, Wyndal and Shelly Stelly, all of Forked Island; and eight grandchildren, Anita Stelly, Coy Stelly, Jeromy Stelly Jr., Madison Stelly, Jentry Guidry, Jada Guidry, Jackson Nugier, and Grace Nugier.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Della Rung Stelly; one daughter, Ann Stelly; and one brother, Lesley "Jimmy" Stelly.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. when the procession departs for the church.
Mr. Stelly's family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation for the care and concern provided by Concepts of Care Home Health, Doctor Raghotham Patlola, and the staff of Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.
