Marietta Olson White Toups

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Justin P. Simon, Luke J. White, Mark D. Winch, David Faber, Eric Mautner, Michael Atchetee and Collin Poirier. Hononary pallbearer will be Dwayne Hebert. Lectors for the service will be Hillary Simon Faber and Melissa LeMay.
Marietta was trained as a nurse during World War II with the Cadet Nurse Corps Program. She was a registered nurse at Abbeville General Hospital with over 35 years of service.
She is survived by her son, Michael J. White and his wife, Jennifer; three daughters, Cathy White, Tanya White Winch and Patricia White Simon; step daughter, Brenda Toups Atchetee; brother, Robert Kuehling and wife, Margie; sister-in-law, Mary Kuehling; niece, Beth Graham; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and special friends, Michael and Bonny Atchetee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Olson and Hallie O. Kuehling; spouse, Jeb Stewart White and George Whitney Toups; son, Steven Arthur White; sisters, Hester G. Poynter and Lyola Frazier; brother, William Kuehling; step son, Donald J. Toups; and niece, Patricia G. Kramer.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, December 27, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asked that donations be sent to the Vermilion Parish Library, 405 E. Saint Victor Street, Abbeville, LA 70510 in memory of Marietta Olson White Toups.
