Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Winnie D. Mire, 88, who died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mitchell Guidry officiating the services and Reverend Conley Bertrand assisting.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas G. Mire and wife, Patty of Covington, Ronald J. Mire and wife, Phyllis of Marietta, Georgia, and Timothy (Timmy) J. Mire and wife, Patrice of Kaplan; two daughters, Sybil Lucille Mire, SCO of Lowell, Massachusetts and Gretta Schexnaider and husband, Michael of Lafayette; three brothers, Whitney Dronet of Kaplan, J.B. Dronet of Crowley, and Alcee Dronet Jr. of Duson; ten grandchildren, James Mire, Ricky Mire, Margot Grosz, Garrett Mire, Tanya Catchot, Joey Schexnaider, Cory Schexnaider, Amy Boudreaux, Christopher Schexnaider, and Kirk Schexnaider; 21 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eudes J. Mire; her parents, Alcee Dronet and the former Maria Mire; siblings, Yvonne Brasseaux, Laura Simon, Elita Cormier, Inez Roussel, Theodore Dronet, Marie Mire, and Ednor Dronet; and one great grandchild, James Paul Schexnaider.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for church.
