Raymond Istre

January 25, 1935 — January 12, 2013

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Raymond Istre, 77, who died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend D. Blaine Clement officiating the services.

He is survived by three sons, Deacon Timothy Istre and his wife, Jane of Bridge City, Texas, Thaddeus Istre and his wife, Melissa of Kaplan, and Ted Istre of Kaplan; two daughters, Tami Vincent of Kaplan and Tonya Landry and her husband, Michael of Kaplan; two brothers, Alex and Adam Istre, both of Rayne; six grandchildren, Colt Landry, Sumar Bland, Kristen Leigha Weiss, Chance Istre, Kruz Landry, and Justin Istre; and three great grandchildren, John Paul Bland, Edmond Weiss, and Ashlynn Landry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Istre; his parents, Joseph and Eunice Istre; brother, Eddie Istre; sister, Cloma Griffin; and one grandchild, Jacquetta Istre.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Monday, January 14, 2013 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
