Dewey Arcement Jr.

Kaplan—Dewey Arcement Jr., 74, died Monday, January 14, 2013 at his residence in Kaplan.

Dewey was born in Morgan City, the seventh of ten children to the late Dewey Arcement Sr. and the former Maggie Driskill. He married his sweetheart, Earline LeBouef on April 9, 1960. Together they enjoyed going to the casino and visiting family and friends.

He worked for 52 years on a towboat on the Intracoastal Canal, Mississippi, Ohio, and Arkansas Rivers. He retired in 2003 to spend time with his love and family.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Earline LeBouef Arcement of Indian Bayou; his three sons, Dewey "Tony" Arcement III and wife, Susie of Forked Island, Robert Arcement and wife, Diana of Forked Island, and Andrew Arcement and wife, Yong OK of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter, Lela Frederick and husband, Chad of Maryville, Tennessee; four sisters, Patricia Guidry of Mobile, Alabama, Susan Welch of Vinton, Peggy Hebert of San Antonio, Texas and Martha McCool of Philadelphia, Mississippi; three brothers, Larry Arcement of San Antonio, Texas, Dickie Arcement of Lake Hills, Texas, and Ned Arcement of San Antonio, Texas; his mother-in-law, Vernice Breaux LeBouef of Kaplan; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents; one brother, Kenneth Dunnagan; one sister, Carolyn Connor; and father-in-law, Andrus "Mulot" LeBouef.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6 p.m.
