Esther Miller Lewis

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2013 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Esther Miller Lewis, 87, who died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Abbeville General Hospital.

She will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Billy Lewis, Ed Lewis, Michael Pugh, Jessie Hidalgo, Ron Castille and Jace Lewis.

She is survived by her two sons, Harris "Snow" Lewis, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Abbeville, and Ryan Lewis and his wife, Kim of Abbeville; two daugthers, JoAnn Pugh and her husband, Nick, III of Lafayette, and Donna Bayer of Magnolia, TX; eight grandchildren, Billy Lewis, Ed Lewis, Amanda Lewis, Nick Pugh, IV, Michael Pugh, Nancy Pugh, Kristine Choate and Rhonda Haddox; eleven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Hidalgo of Opelousas and Trudy Castille of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harris Lewis; and parents, Alex Miller and the former Eva Lavergne.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
