ABBEVILLE — A private memorial service will be held honoring the life of Carolyn Gilbert Carr, 71, who died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Abbeville General Hospital.

She is survived by her companion, Thomas Steve Austin of Abbeville; sister, Nancy Fournier of Metairie; and two nieces; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Gilbert and the former Marguerite Victory.
