C.J. Joseph Chauvin

November 24, 1934 — January 21, 2013

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of C.J. Joseph Chauvin, 78, who died Monday, January 21, 2013 at a Lafayette hospital.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Austin Leger officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Brock Chauvin, Brett Chauvin, Randy Chauvin, Tony Taylor, Landon Taylor and Ryan Granger.

He is survived by his son, Randy Chauvin and his wife, Rhonda of Abbeville; two daughters, Trisha Taylor and her husband, Tony of Carencro and Fenyx Sloan and her partner, CeCe of Lafayette; step children, Bryan Broussard of Pecan Island and Greg Broussard and his wife, Bonnie of Idaho; eight grandchildren, Brock Chauvin, Brett Chauvin, Zachary Chauvin, Shawna Bouillion and her husband, Tristin, Landon Taylor, Kaylie Taylor, Ryan Granger, Kim Granger Alfaro and her partner, Hilda; daughter-in-law, Connie Chauvin of Maurice; nine great grandchildren; two step grandchildren, Erin Broussard and Lauren Lee and her husband, Steven; and two sisters, Verly Guidry and her husband, Doyce and Barbara Fung and her husband, William.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitney Chauvin and the former Edia Roy; son, Sandy Chauvin; and daughter, Patty Marie Chauvin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 1:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
