Funeral
services will be held Friday,
February 15, 2008 at a 10:00
a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in
St. Mary Magdalen Catholic
Church honoring the life of
Daniel Ray Picard, 78, who died
February 13, 2008 at his
residence.
He will be laid to rest at St.
Paul Mausoleum with Father
Daniel Picard officiating the
services.
Ray retired as Chief Deputy
for Vermilion Parish Clerk of
Court having worked 38 years.
He was also a rice and cattle
farmer. He was a Grand Knight
in the Knights of Columbus
Council #2281. Ray was also
President of KROF radio station.
He was a member of the Men of
Mary Rosary group. Ray was an
avid walker.
He is survived by his wife,
Maudry "Mae Mae" Mae
Melebeck Picard; one son,
Father Daniel Russell Picard of
Lawtell; three daughters, Donna
Chreene and her husband,
Tommy of Meaux, Diane Picard
of Abbeville, Debbie Hebert and
her husband, Brent of Meaux;
one sister, Shirley Lacour and
her husband, Francis of Esther; grandchildren, Matthew Chreene and his wife, Stacy, Nicole Lebert and her husband, Aaron, Steven Duhon, Kyle Duhon,
Justin Hebert, Jared Hebert, Jason Hebert and Michelle
Hebert; and two great grandchildren, Tristan Aaron
Chreene and Cadence Riley Chreene.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Aristide Picard; and one grandson,
Aaron Chreene.
The family requests that
visiting hours be observed at
Vincent Funeral Home, 209
South St. Charles, Abbeville,
Thursday, February 14th from
4:00 p.m. until 9:00.p.m. with a
rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.;
Friday, February 15th from 8:00
a.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made in
Ray's memory to your chairty of
choice.
