Joseph Amos Hebert

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Joseph Amos Hebert, 81, who died Friday, February 1, 2013 peacefully at his residence after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. He will be laid to rest at LeMaire Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.


Amos was a loving, hard-working, strong-willed man that loved nothing more than to be in the fields and with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt, fish and farm. Amos was a wonderful family man taking care of a beautiful and prospering family and friends and people he influenced along the way. He will always be remembered for his love and compassion, and for the influence he had to better the lives of others.


Serving as pallbearers will be Cedric Mouton, Jonathan Perrin, Zachary Perrin, Nathaniel Perrin, Seth Stansbury, and Alan Stansbury. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Noah Roussel.


He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jean Campbell Hebert; children, Angie Robicheaux, Kimberlie Perrin, Jonathan Perrin, Jessica Perrin, and Mandy Ortego; nine grandchildren, Seth, Alan and Hailey Stansbury, Zachary and Nathaniel Perrin, Mallory, Morgan and Lorraine Ortego, and Noah Roussel; and one son Mark Hebert and children Ellen Hebert and Mindy Broussard.


He was preceded in death by his parents Fernand Hebert and the former Edia Stelly; four brothers, Wilton, Hampton, Lovelace "Tin" and Norris Hebert; two sisters, Gladys Hebert and Hilda Hebert; his first wife, Laura B. Hebert; and one son Kirk Hebert .


The family would like to thank the staff of Dr. Brierre and the staff of Heart of Hospice.


The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, February 05, from 8 a.m. until services.
