Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa Catholic Church honoring the life of Hazel Guidry Mitchell, 84, who died March 5, 2008 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Mausoleum with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.

She was a member of the St. Theresa Ladies Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd A. Mitchell of Abbeville; two sons, Brent Mitchell and Ronnie Mitchell both of Abbeville; one daughter, Connie M. Gremillion and her husband Brian of Abbeville; one brother, Lovelace Guidry of Nunez; two sisters, Lorena Broussard of Lafayette and Eurice Touchet of Abbeville; three grandchildren, Angelle Gremillion, Jared Gremillion, Brittany Hopper; two step grandsons, Rob Gremillion and Gabe Gremillion; and three great grandchildren; Olivear Gremillion, Maddox Gremillion and Ainsley Lange.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Demas Guidry and the former Edmonia Hebert; and four brothers, Lenix Guidry, Lovic Guidry, Leman Guidry and Revis Guidry.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Friday, March 7th from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, March 8th from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 when the procession will depart for the church.
