Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Kersey Paul Trahan, 79, who died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. He will be laid to rest at Hebert Cemetery with Reverend Thomas Habetz officiating the services.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vellen Primeaux Trahan of Gueydan; his son, Kirby Paul Trahan Sr. and his wife, Robin of Gueydan; four grandchildren, Karey Trahan Theriot, Kelly Marie Trahan, Kersey Paul Trahan II, and Kirby Paul Trahan Jr.; three great grandchildren, Sierra LeJeune, Grant Theriot and Sarah Trahan; and two sisters, Delores Trahan Hebert of West Virginia and Sarah Trahan Richard of Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eslay Trahan and the former Lorena Trahan; two brothers, Hugh and Charles Trahan; and one sister, Hilda Trahan Foreman.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 3 p.m. until services on Tuesday, April 2nd. A rosary will be prayed Monday at 7 p.m.
