Clifford "T-Cliff" Leblanc

May 30, 1923 — April 10, 2013

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Clifford LeBlanc, 89, who died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Abbeville General Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Thomas Habetz officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Mike Detraz, Mike Detraz, Jr., Daniel "Bubba" Boudreaux, Joey Comeaux, Jared LeBlanc, Joshua LeBlanc, Matthew LeBlanc, Mark LeBlanc, II, Bryan Bourque, and Dilan Comeaux. Gift bearers will be Paige, Jennah, Madison, and Amelia.

T-Cliff was a native of Henry, Louisiana and life long resident of Abbeville. He graduated from Henry High School. He was in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 and served in World War II and drove the Higgins Boat. He then came home and married his sweetheart, Thelma Moore. He opened Cliff's Shoe in Abbeville, worked for Loltes Delcambre and was captain on crew boats. He then went to work for former Sheriff Euda Delcambre as a deputy for 25 years. After retirement, he enjoyed life with his wife, family and their best friends. He loved entertaining and cooking for different people, family and friends. Cooking was a hobby to him although it was a lot of work. He cooked for the May Festival, former Governor Edwin Edwards, Ducks Unlimited, Boys and Girls Club, and many more. Known for his jambalaya, rice dressing and sauce piquant he was the best to all.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Thelma Moore; two daughters, Shawnee married to Mike Detraz, and Sharyon, married to Daniel "Bubba" Boudreaux; six grandchildren, Mike Detraz, Jr., Michelle D. Comeaux, Joshua LeBlanc, Jared LeBlanc, Mark LeBlanc, II, and Matthew LeBlanc; five great-grandchildren, Paige Comeaux, Dilan Comeaux, Jennah Detraz, Amelia Detraz, and Madison Hebert; and one sister, Freda Ally.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Heard and Elisma LeBlanc of Henry; son, Mark LeBlanc; and brother Leroy LeBlanc.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 300 Pere Megret Street, on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Knights of Columbus and Museum of Living Legends.


The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Lahasky, Eastridge Nursing Home, and Abbeville General Hospital, his C.N.A. and nurses that he gave hell to.
