Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point honoring the life of Vernice Mire Landry Henry, age 81 and a resident of Crowley, who died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Abshire Cemetery with Reverend Clint Trahan officiating the services.
She is survived by three sons; Elwood Paul Landry of Sulphur, Roland Joseph Landry of Sulphur, and Malcolm Jude Landry of Summerville, SC; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elier and Melina Mire; her first husband, Malcolm Landry, Sr. and her second husband, Johnson Bufford Henry; one sister, Bernice Trahan; three brothers, Wines, Eunas, and Minus Mire; and one grandson, Malcolm Landry, III
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6 p.m.; Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
