Mr. Reese was employed by Superior Oil Company for thirty years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in World War II.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jude, Blake, Jason and Jordan Reese, Adrian LeJeune, and Ronnie Duhon. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilfred Lege, Billy Fontenot and Brennon Reese.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane Lege Reese; one son, Jude Douglas Reese and his wife, Jessica of Gueydan; three daughters, Mary Anne Reese of Kingwood, TX, Rita Michelle and her husband, Ronnie Duhon of Gueydan, and Stella Elizabeth and her husband, Adrian LeJeune of Gueydan; one brother, Francis Reese of Milton; two sisters, Jane Pego of Gueydan and Helen Abshire of Gueydan; nine grandchildren, Jason, Blake, Jordan, Jackie, Rebekah, Gretchen, Katie, Isabella, and Emma; eight great grandchildren, Kristian, Cecily, Brennon, Bryc, Caleb, Cora, Addison, and Brielle; and one great-great grandchild, Keelan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Reese, Sr. and the former Laura Moore; five brothers, Chester, Alton, Thomas, George, and Sheldon Reese; two sisters, Madeline Sutton and Stella Flett; and one grandchild, Ireland Paige Reese.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 8 a.m. until services.
