Lula Richard Stelly

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Lula Richard Stelly, 82, who died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. She will be laid to rest at Suire Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Hildrie J. "Shug" Stelly Sr. of Cow Island; three sons, Ravis Stelly and his wife, Penny of Cow Island, Sandrus Stelly and his wife, Delores of Cow Island, and Hildrie Stelly Jr. and his wife, Charlotte of Cow Island; four daughters, Brenda and her husband, Robert Guidry of Pecan Island, Betty and her husband, Stanley Cormier of Forked Island, Sarah and her husband, Ronald Guidry of Forked Island, and Faye Stelly of Forked Island; one sister, Ruby LeMaire of Cow Island; 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her three sons, Warren Stelly, Norman Stelly Sr., and Aladdin "Caboose" Stelly; her parents, Aladdin Richard and the former Cecil Gaspard; one brother, Clarence Richard Sr.; and three sisters, Gladys Suire, Gloria White, and Irene Frederick.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 3 p.m. until Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church; A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
