Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of John Gaspard Sr., 70, who died Tuesday, May 15, 2013 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon Andre Metrejean officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Gaspard of Kaplan; three sons, Anthony "Pemon" Gaspard and his wife, Terri of Kaplan, Timothy "Tomot" Gaspard and his wife, Dee of Meaux, and John Gaspard, Jr. and his wife, Johanna of Kaplan; two daughters, Patty and her husband, Kenneth Touchet of Kaplan and Melinda and her husband, Keith Sellers of Kaplan; one sister, Cecile Fontenot of Kaplan; one brother, Ernest Gaspard of Kaplan; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ernest Gaspard and the former Odelia Demette; and two brothers, Alcide Trahan and Theodore Touchet.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m.; Thursday, May 16, from 8 a.m. until services.
