Ed Greene

April 3, 1937 — May 14, 2013

KAPLAN — Ed passed away May 14, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 76 years old. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 9 a.m. at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Vincent Funeral Home.

Ed was born April 3, 1937 to Minos C. and Mamie Greene on the family farm in Kaplan, LA. He began his working career as a rice farmer then spent 17 years with Trunkline Gas Co. before retiring again with the City of Kaplan. In his younger years, Ed spent his free time getting together with friends and enjoying a good party and lots of dancing, fishing, and hunting. Later in life he enjoyed spending time with family and gardening. Nothing made him smile more than looking into the eyes of his bride of 53 years, kids, and grandkids! During his 7-year illness our mother devoted her life to caring for our father and we can not ever thank her enough.

Ed and Marlene had four sons, Kirk, Lee, Steven, and Kelly Greene and one daughter, Camille Broussard; daughter-in-law, Darlene Greene and son-in-law, Kevin Broussard; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
