Charles Gentry Landry

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church honoring the life of Charles Gentry Landry, 66, who died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Abbeville General Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery with Reverend Bill Melancon officiating the services.


Pallbearers will be Andre Landry, Chuckie Landry, Joey Landry, Brent Landry, Josh Buck and Josh Suire. Honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Lemaire and Blake Weaver.


Charles served in the United States Army, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.


He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Derouen Landry of Erath; two sons, Andre Landry of Erath and Chuckie Landry of Erath; two daughters, D'Shane Lemaire of Erath and Tiffany Hebert of Erath; two brothers, Joey Landry and his wife Gig of Erath and Brent Landry and his wife Charlane of Erath; one sister, Liz Hebert and her husband David of Erath; six grandchildren, Bailey, Gage, Gentry, Alie, Averi and Jireh, all of Erath; father-in-law, Alfred LeBlanc; and mother-in-law, Mary Thibeaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Landry and the former Rena Vincent; a brother, Shane Landry.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Tuesday June 4, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
