Allen Paul Clostio

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Allen Paul Clostio, 88, who passed away peacefully at his home Monday, June 10, 2013. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Clint Trahan officiating the services.

He was a World War II veteran who served our country in the Army's 368th Engineering Regiment, traveling from North France, the Ardennes Region of Holland, Belgium, Rhineland and Germany, repairing transportation infrastructure. He also served six months with the United States Air Force.

Allen and his wife, the former Gurdy Mae Gaspard, recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary having been married since June 3, 1950. He is survived by his wife and four children, Wanda Clostio and companion, Bob Howard, Sandra Clostio Comeaux and husband, Marc, and Steven Clostio, all of Kaplan and Troy Clostio and wife, Kim of Eatonville, Washington; two grandchildren whom he loved so much and helped care for since they were born, Miranda Lynn Comeaux of Lafayette and Ross Allen Comeaux of Kaplan. He is also survived by brothers, Randal Clotiaux of Groves, Texas and Lawrence Clostio of Abbeville and sisters, Lucille Langlinais of Lafayette and Louise Clostio of Kaplan.

He was preceded in death by daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim Hebert; three brothers, Exal "Rook" and Calice Clostio and Willie Clotiaux; and four sisters, Exodie Herpin, Ella Badon, Naomi DeBlanc, and Inez Corner.

"Pop" was a quiet, humble, honorable man who had a wonderful work ethic. He took life as it came and never criticized or complained about anything, with never an unkind word or deed. He will be deeply missed.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m.; Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
