Wilbur James Baker

September 26, 1933 — April 10, 2008

Mr. Wilbur James Baker, 74, died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette. Mr. Baker’s wishes were to be cremated with no services to follow.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Janie Baker of San Diego, CA; a brother, Robert Becker; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Becker; a son, Steven Baker; two brothers, Hollis Becker and Nolan Becker; and a sister, Doris Frederick.
Mr. Baker was retired U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict, from 1952 until his retirement in 1973. The last ship he served on was the USS Bon Homme Richard.
