Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Brent Aaron Stutes, 30, who died Monday, July 8, 2013 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Pecan Island Community Cemetery with Reverend Farley Painter officiating the services.
Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Reed, Vince Stutes, Chris Crosby, Dustin Quibedeaux, Robert Christian and Damon Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Dillon Louviere and Harley Leblanc.
Brent was an avid pool player. He was a member of the American Poolplayers Association for over ten years. He loved fishing, shrimping, and all outdoor activities.
He is survived by his wife of two years, Candi Stutes of Mire; four daughters, Skyla Stutes of Mire, Hailey Stutes of Nunez, Madison Peltier of Nunez, and Gracie Stutes of Kaplan; his mother, Sharron Harrington Likes and Bob of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; two brothers, David Corey Reed and Vince Stutes, both of Kaplan; half-sister, Nikki Stutes of Natchitoches; maternal grandmother, Elaine Breaux of Kaplan; and paternal grandfather, A.J. Stutes of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Allen Stutes; and maternal grandfathers, Nolan Harrington and Ward Ray Breaux Sr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 8 a.m. until services.
