Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Dalton Joseph Bertrand, 86, who died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Jonathan Janise officiating the services.

He is survived by five sons, Daniel Paul Bertrand of Port Arthur, TX, Dalton Wayne Bertrand and his wife, Sandy of Texas City, TX, Darrell Keith Bertrand and his wife, Nadine of Abbeville, Robert Dale Bertrand of Abbeville, and Rickey James Bertrand of Lafayette; two daughters, Bertha Sue and her husband, Wayne Stelly of Abbeville and Deborah Ann Stelly of Abbeville; one brother, Jerome Bertrand of Bayou Vista; one sister, Beatrice Hebert of Kaplan; 21 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Otis Bertrand; his sisters, Eula Mae LeBlanc and Shirley Rose Davis; and one son-in-law, Raymond Stelly, Sr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 8 a.m. until services.
