Myrtis Marie Bufford

November 17, 1942 — August 6, 2013

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 8, 2013 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Myrtis Marie Bufford, 70, who died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Iberia Medical Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Jonathan Janise officiating the services.

She is survived by her companion, Joseph Breaux of New Iberia, one son, Lainewood Hargrave and his wife, Sabrina of Abbeville; three daughters, Janet Hargrave of Kaplan, Veronica and her husband, Abrom Wayne Hargrave of Kaplan, and Sandra Faye Hargrave of Kaplan; her ex-husband, Sandres Joseph Hargrave of Abbeville; one sister, Mavis Luquette of Abbeville; five brothers, John Bufford of Cow Island, Ernest Bufford of Kaplan, Robert Bufford of Abbeville, Doris Bufford of Kaplan, and Wilbert Bufford of Kaplan; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Derrick John Melancon; her granddaughter, Leana Thibodeaux; her parents, Ophe Bufford and the former Buelah Hargrave; her brothers, Minos Bufford and Ravis Bufford.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 4 p.m. until services with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m.
