Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, May 01, 2008 at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville honoring the life of Mrs. Dudley Frederick the former Helen Simon, 88, who died April 29, 2008 at Eastridge Skilled Nursing Facility. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Mausoleum with Reverend Greg Chauvin officiating the services. She is survived by three sons, Russell J. Frederick and his wife Nancy, Daniel Frederick and his wife Beatrice and Harold Frederick and his wife Barbara all of Abbeville; two daughters, Flordury McDowell and her husband Ray of Carencro and Yvonne Frederick and special friend Suzy LeBlanc of Abbeville; sister-in-law, Verna Frederick; brother-in-law, Doris Frederick and his wife Norma; twenty-one grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Frederick; one son, Larry Frederick and his wife Francis; parents, Theophile Simon and the former Azelima Schexnayder; and siblings, Phillip Simon, Ceasar Simon, Arsene Castro, Lucy Rousell, Evelyn Landry and Nettie LeBlanc. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Wednesday, April 30th from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, May 1st from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
