Corbert J. East

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008 at St. Theresa Catholic Church for Mr. Corbert J. East, 85. He was the owner and operator of Corbert East Decorating Supply. Father Kenneth Mayne of St. Theresa Catholic Church will conduct the services. Survivors include one son, Corbert K. East of Erath; one son-in-law, Robert Hebert of Abbeville; two step-sons, Rodney Dooley and Terrell and his wife, Dean of Delcambre; three step daughters, Glyndon Dooley of New Iberia and Shelby Renard and her husband John Cleve of Delcambre and Cynthia Delcambre of Delcambre; four brothers, John East of Lake Charles, Juris J. East of Lafayette, Willis East of Bristol Tennessee and Avery East of Natchitoches; three sisters, Nita Touchet of Erath, Florence Romero of Abbeville and Laura Dupre of New Iberia; four grandchildren; and thirteen step grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Armentor East; his daughter, Rosalyn East Hebert; his father, John East; his mother, Enolia B. East; one sister, Agnes E. Badeaux of New Iberia; one step son, Kenneth Charles Dooley; one step daughter-in-law, Vergie Dooley; and two step grandsons, Kenny C, Renard and John K. Renard all of Delcambre. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Friday until service time. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd Floor of Abbeville General Hospital and Hospice of Acadiana for the loving and compassionate care shown to Corbert.
