Funeral services will be held Friday, May 09, 2008 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa Catholic Church honoring the life of Eddie Desormeaux, 93, who died May 07, 2008 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Randy Campbell, Lance Hebert, Gary Hebert, Scott Hebert, and Eddie Hebert and nephew, Donald Desormeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Hebert, Lercy Campbell, Dennis Hebert and Lester Desormeaux. The readings will be read by Angela Frederick and Heather Thomas. Giftbearers will be his granddaughters, Suzanne Schexnayder, Donna Harrington, Elizabeth Romero, Melissa Judice, Paula Hewlett and Sandra Elliott. Eddie was the founder of Desormeaux's Refrigeration and Electric now known as Desormeaux Heating and Cooling. He did small appliance repairs for years. As a past time he loved to crab and spend time at his camp in Holly Beach. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lena Frederick Desormeaux of Abbeville; three daughters, Gloria D. Hebert and her husband, Donald of Abbeville, Hazel D. Campbell and her husband, Lercy of Erath and Edylene D. Hebert and her husband, Dennis of Abbeville; one half brother, Lester Desormeaux of Abbeville; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edvar Desormeaux and the former Helena Landry; step mother, Nita S. Desormeaux; one brother, Essay Desormeaux; and one half brother, Edwin Desormeaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Thursday, May 8th from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, May 9th from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
