He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.
Rickey was an avid pool player who also enjoyed golf. He was a sports fan of the New Orleans Saints, LSU Tigers and New York Yankees. He took great pleasure in coaching recreational baseball.
He is survived by his four sons, Rickey Dale Montagne, Jr. and his wife, Chassie of Calhoun, GA, Richard Lee Montagne of Crestview, FL, Brody James Montagne of Chatsworth, GA, and Trey Logan Montagne of Abbeville; two daughters, Alexia Nicole Montagne of Rockwood, TN and Shae Alexis Montagne of Erath; step daughter, Paige Nicole Schexnaider of Abbeville; mother, Lydia Meaux Montagne; three grandchildren, Ari Daylan Montagne, William Drake Montagne, and Shelby Jace Montagne; and godchild, Danielle Montagne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shannon Marie Hargrave Montagne; father, Daniel Montagne; brother, Daniel Montagne, Jr.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Montagne, and Mr. and Mrs. Felician Meaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asked that donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
