He is survived by two sons, Minos Joseph Cashat III and his wife Brandi of St. Robert, Missouri and Cody Cashat and his wife Brandi of Buras; one daughter, Ashley Cashat and her fiance' Justin Trahan of McHenry, Maryland; two brothers, Sam Kershaw of Lafayette and Gerald Cashat and his wife Deedra of Youngsville; one sister, Annette Cashat of Kaplan; his mother, Emily and her husband Alton Rachal of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Emma, Aubree, Cameron, Blake and Minos IV; and his special friend, Suzy Manceaux.
He was preceded in death by his father, Minos Cashat Sr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Monday, September 30, from 9 a.m. until services.
