Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Laines “TP” Vincent, 95, who died Monday, September 30, 2013 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Johnathan Janise officiating the services.
Mr. T.P. managed Pelican Oil as a young man. He then managed and was part owner of Rene’s Implement where he was a successful John Deere dealer until the business was sold and became Quality Equipment. He was a co-founder and board member of Vermilion Bank from its inception in 1958 until shortly before his passing. He was happiest when his family and friends were around him. He will be sadly missed by family and friends alike.
He is survived by one daughter, Myrna and her husband, Terry Simon of Kaplan; one son, Lonnie Vincent and his wife, Ellen of Kaplan; nine grandchildren, Spence, Chris, Blake, Simone, Michelle, Maria, David, Brad, and Terrence; and eighteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene C. Vincent; and his parents, Wallace Vincent Sr. and the former Agnes Broussard; and one brother, Wallace Vincent Jr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
