She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 78 years, Paul Laurent Landry of Perry; daugthers, Judy Choate (Ernie Saviano) of Perry, Paulette Landry of Fort Worth, TX and Connie Durand (Gerald) of St. Martinville.
She treasured her grandchildren, Susan C Barefield and Cindy C. Borland of Blue Mountain Beach, FL., Scott Choate (Margie) of Vinton, LA., Spencer Choate (Janie) of Perry, LA., Angela Clark of Fort Worth, TX., Burton Durand of Lafayette, LA., Ashley D Broussard (Tyler) of Baton Rouge, LA., Danielle Durand of Dallas, TX.; her great grandchildren, Dustin Barefield, Dexter Barefield (Tara), Sarah Borland, Tanner Newman, Blake Clark, Jack Clark, Hannah Clark, Maddie Clark, Summer Matthews and Hailey Choate; and her great great grandchildren, the “little boys” Dex and Daniel Barefield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Perry and the former Louise Mayard; infant son, Larry Landry; brother, Wilsy Perry; sisters, Maude Perry Hebert, Mary Louise “Mem” Baudoin, Pauline Broussard and Adez Perry Hebert.
Edola was a true homemaker, a great cook, baker of lemon and pecan pies and a talented seamstress. She enjoyed watching the birds, bouquets of fresh flowers and music, especially the organ and the choir at St. Mary Magdalen. As she requested, Johnny Luquette and Tommy Guidry will provide the beautiful sounds to send her to her heavenly home.
The family would like to extend thanks to all who brightened her days, especially Pearl Marceaux, her sitter, Kizzy and the nurses and supporters of Heart of Hospice, Diana, who brought her delicious desserts, Vickie who brought her communion, and her little cheerleaders, Summer and Hailey who visited with her daily.
The family wishes to invite all of our friends and neighbors to join us in a celebration of her life at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be led by Vivkie Landry at 10:00 a.m.
