ABBEVILLE- Funeral
services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2008 at a 11 :00 a.m.. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Alana Lynn Matthews, 6 months, who died May 19, 2008 at Women's and Children's Hospital.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend William Blanda officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Matthews, Eric Marceaux, Andrew Marceaux and Nicholas Vincent.
She is survived by her parents, Nicholas Joseph Matthews and Monica Lynn Marceaux of Abbeville; one brother, Ethan Joseph Matthews of Abbeville; maternal grandparents, John Larkin Marceaux and Verline Langlinais; paternal grandparents, Paulette M. Breaux of Abbeville; great maternal grandmother, Marie Dubois; great paternal grandmother, Arlene Matthews; uncle, Eric Marceaux and his wife Allyson who is also Alana's godmother and their children, Anne-Marie Marceaux, Andrew Marceaux and Alexander Marceaux all of Abbeville; godfather, Nicholas Vincent and his wife Ashley and their children, Hailey Vincent and Alyssa Vincent. great uncle, John Matthews and his wife Alva and their daughter, Mollie and James Brent Matthews and his wife Melissa and their children and Mark Matthews; and great aunt, Darlene Neveaux and her husband Darrell.
She was preceded in death by her great maternal grandfather, Duplex Langlinais, great paternal grandparents, Romaine Marceaux and his wife Daisy; and great grandfather, Raywood Matthews.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Wednesday, May 21st from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, May 22nd from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
