Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church honoring the life of Kenneth Lee Broussard, 70, who died Monday, October 14, 2013 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Gregory Simien officiating the services.
Kenneth loved spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his wife and best friend, Dolores of 49 years. He was well-known for his excellent culinary and gardening skills, and loved nothing better than to cook for the entire family. Kenneth also enjoyed raising animals, gardening, and reminiscing about old times. Kenneth would help anyone in need and loved nothing better than to give of his time and talents. Kenneth was the rock of his family, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind to mourn his beloved wife, Dolores Luquette Broussard of Meaux; five children, Neal Broussard and his wife Tammy of Lafayette, Alison Marceaux and her husband Jubal of Lake Charles, Corey Broussard and his wife Sarah of Lafayette, Kern Broussard and his wife Denise of Maurice, and Blake Broussard and his wife Lilah of Meaux; six grandchildren, McKenzie Marceaux, Christa Broussard, Lindsay Marceaux, Hannah Broussard, Noah Broussard, and Rynn Marceaux; and three sisters, Murdes Frederick, DeElla Roy, and Nadine Broussard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ocey Broussard and the former Hazel Stelly.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church. A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m.
