He will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with Deacon Tim Marcantel officiating the services.
He is survived by his three sons, Roely Desormeaux and his wife Clara, Roland Desormeaux and his wife Fayetta, and Carroll Desormeaux and his wife Linda; two daughters, Verna Broussard, and Helen Foreman and her husband Leewood; four sisters, Eva Duhon, Dorothy Primeaux, Hazel Menard and Melba Thibodeaux; fifteen grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Rosa Baudoin Desormeaux; parents, Ulysess Desormeaux and the former Selima Turner; one great grandchild, Louis Desormeaux; three brothers, Agnon Desormeaux, Sabrey Desormeaux and Mabrey Desormeaux; two sisters, Agnes Trahan and Lula Mae Vincent; and two son-in-laws, Purvis Hebert and Gilbert Tribe.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, October 18, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
