Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, October 21, 2013 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Frank Guidry, 84, who died Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Eastridge Nursing Center.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Frank was a retired State Trooper. He was the owner/operator of Cajun Security Services. Frank was a member of the Louisiana State Troopers Association, American Legion Post #29, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his two sons, Mark Leland Guidry and his wife, Joan of Metairie and William Lester "Billy" Guidry of Houma; two daughters, Myra Guidry Matte of Kaplan and Jody Guidry Meaux and her husband Russell of Kaplan; one sister, Louise Guidry Falgout of Erath; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Matte and his wife Jenny, Derek Guidry, Kevin Matte, Dustin Guidry, Randall Meaux, Blake Guidry, Julia Guidry, Richard Guidry and Ryan Meaux; six great grandchildren, Dillon Macon, Jacob Guidry, Tristyn Matte, Raelyn Matte, Kadyn Matte and Maddox Guidry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Eula Breaux Guidry; parents, Antime Guidry and the former Alidia Boudreaux; brothers, Cleopha Guidry, Pheo Guidry and Royce Guidry; and sisters, Elida Thibodeaux, Nola Frederick, Nolia Guidry and Anna Falgout; one great granddaugther, Jonelle Guidry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday, October 21, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
