Funeral services will be held Monday, June 16, 2008, at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa Catholic Church honoring the life of Kenneth H. Acord, Sr., 59, of Abbeville who died June 12, 2008 in Iberia Parish. He will be laid to rest in St. Paul Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Mayne, pastor of St. Theresa Catholic Church, will officiate the services. Mr. Acord retired as a Senior Lieutenant after 28 years of service with the Abbeville Police Force. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Kenneth had a love for life and for playing cards; he will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marlene Baudoin Acord; one son, Kenneth Acord, Jr. and wife Natalie of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Trevor Acord, Skyler Acord and Cade Lacaze; special niece, Sandy Sagrera and husband Ike; special nephew, Spencer Vaughn ; two half sisters, Verna Guidry and Billie Simon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse Mouton and the former Noemie Touchet; and a half brother, Wayne Acord. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 S. St. Charles St., Abbeville, Saturday, June 14th, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15th from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Monday, June 16th, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
