Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Joseph Demosthine Mouton, 90, who died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at his residence.
He will be laid to rest at Hebert Cemetery with Deacon Joe Hebert officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Mark LeBlanc, Scott Fatjo, Nick Fatjo, Michael Fatjo, Cobb LeBouef and Chip LeBouef. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald L. Frederick And Dr. Corbett J. LeBouef.
J.D. was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country during WWII as a French translator. He retired from Orleans Oil Company and was also a farmer and cattle rancher. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. J.D. was known for having a great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hazel LeBouef Mouton; three sons, John Reed Mouton of Abbeville, Brady Mouton and his wife Belinda of Abbeville, and Michael Mouton and his wife Crystal of Abbeville; two daughters, Debbie LeBlanc and her husband Mark of Abbeville, and Brenda Fatjo and her husband Scott of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Jade Adams, Lindsey LeBlanc, Kristi Mouton, Nick Fatjo, Michael Fatjo, Alyssa Mouton and Megan Mouton; and sister, Jan Frederick of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Mouton and the former Azelie Trahan.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until time of service with a rosry to be recited at 11:30 a.m.
