Louis Joseph Mire

July 8, 1930 — June 17, 2008

Funeral services
will be held Thursday, June 19, 2008 at a 1 :30 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Alphonus Catholic Church honoring the life of Louis Joseph Mire, 77, who died June 17, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Joseph Breaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Michael Trahan, Jr., David Trahan, Michael Breaux, Joey Veazey, Brent Trahan and Patrick Breaux.
He served in Korea 1950-1952. Worked offshore for 30 years and at North Vermilion High School for 12 years. He was a member of the Bayou Carlin Camping Club.
He is survived by his wife, Maudry Trahan Mire; daughter, Debra Mire Meaux and her husband, Jerome Meaux; their two children, Brittany Meaux and Phillip Jerome and his wife, Ashley Thibodeaux Meaux; and their daughter, Kayla Renee'. Also his sisters, Cecile Mire Mayard and Melba Mire Breaux. His godchild as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Nazaire Mire and Nella Duhon Mire.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Wednesday, June 18th from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, June 19th from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
