Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Clarence Landry, 92, who died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Johnathan Janise officiating the services.

Clarence was a charter member of the VFW Post 3793 since 1946. He was the president of the St. Joseph and Holy Name Society for 27 years, and served as a usher at Holy Rosary for 60 years. He was a Grand Night of the Knights of Columbus Council 2913 and a member for over 50 years. Clarence was employed by the Bill Matthews Ford Dealership for 27 years and John Deere Dealership for 23 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Nita and her husband, Joe Pere' of Kaplan; one grandson, Jo-Jo Pere' of Lafayette; two sisters, Cecile Daigle of Lafayette and Lucille and her husband, Shelton of Carencro; and one brother, Lennis Landry and his wife, Rita of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavonne Bonin Landry; his parents, Drozin Landry and the former Amelia Guilbeaux; and two brothers, Alton and Phil Landry .

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
