Graveyard services will be held for Johnna Mae Galtier Labit on January 11, 2014, 2:00 pm at Lemaire Hartman Cemetery in Cow Island. She unexpectantly passed away at AMG in Youngsville, La., leaving behind a family she loved dearly. Her husband of 24 years, Gene Labit Jr.; her daughters, Amanda Renee Bourque Melancon and her husband, Chad of Erath and Monique Andre’ Labit and her friend, Ethan Hebert of Baton Rouge; and her son Jacob Darren Labit of Henry.
Her greatest joys of her life were her three grandsons, Austin James Hebert, Mason Scott Hebert, and Hunter Gage Labit, all of Erath. She dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren above all else.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Alwin Galtier; her mother, Barbara Davidson Galtier; her nephew and godchild, Taylon De Los Santos.
She also leaves behind to mourn her passing, her brother, Lee Galtier and wife Teresa; her sister, Paula Galtier; her in-laws, Eugene Sr. and Mary Labit; her sister in-law Michelle Labit Theriot; her nephews and nieces, Peyton Theriot, Jonathan Galtier, Destine Galtier, Braden Galtier and Kyrah Vincent along with numerous family and friends that Johnna enjoyed visiting with.
Johnna would have loved to thank The Staff of AMG of Youngsville and Dr. Jorge Belgodere for all the love and care they provided her for so many years. Her words exactly were “it was like family when she went there”. Had she been able to choose the place to go to her maker, it would have been there, and by the miracle of God that is exactly what happened.
