Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Shirley D. Gaspard, 67, who died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Johnathan Janise officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Johnny Gaspard of Kaplan; two sons, Lonny Gaspard and his wife, Ada of Lafayette and Denny Gaspard and his wife, Sarah of Kaplan; one daughter, Dawn Broussard of Pecan Island; two sisters, Cornelia Dye of Golden Meadow and Lois Proff of Houston, TX; and seven grandchildren, Amelia Broussard of Pecan Island, Matthew Broussard of Pecan Island, William Broussard of Pecan Island, Ross Gaspard of Lafayette, Milly Gaspard of Lafayette, Lana Gaspard of Kaplan, and Libby Gaspard of Kaplan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice Duet and the former Laura Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 9 a.m. until services with a rosary being prayed at 11 a.m..
