He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Mire of Forked Island; one son, Sonnie Jude Mire and his wife, Lucinda of Lafayette; three daughters, Lillian and her husband, Bruce Hodge of Gonzales, Jacqueline and her husband, Anthony Dartez of Kaplan, and Kim and her husband, Lennes Hebert of Abbeville; two sisters, Alberta and her husband, Robert LeBlanc of Kaplan and Beverly and her husband, Larry Vidalier of Kaplan; one brother, Michael Mire of Kaplan; twelve grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerome "Jay" Mire Jr; his parents, Wilton Mire and the former Marie Dronet; and his sister, Alberta Mire.
