She will be laid to rest at Esther Community Cemetery with Father Neil Pettit officiating the services. Pallbearers will be her three grandsons - Elphege Mouton, III, Marq Mouton, and Jules Mouton, son-in-law - Joseph Godfrey, great grandson - Ashton Ditch and nephew - Wayne Gaspard. Lector will be her great grandson, Jaritt Ditch. Giftbearers will be her great granddaughter - Madison Hebert, and great grandsons - Collin Ditch and Marshall Guidry.
Lena loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt.
She is survived by her four daughters, Antoinette F. Mouton and her husband Elphege, Jr., Ruby F. Sherman, Jo Ann Foreman, and Hilda F. Godfrey and her husband Joseph all of Abbeville; grandchildren, Elphege Mouton, III and his wife Denny, Marq Mouton, Jules Mouton, Selina S. Guidry and her husband Jason, Sophia S. Ditch and her husband Roland, Gabrielle S. Detraz and her husband Michael; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jules Foreman; parents, Lloyd Trahan and the former Hilda Nunez; sisters, Evina Gaspard and Melba T. Dupuy; and son-in-law, Louis Sherman.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 300 Pere Megret Street, on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 3rd Floor nursing staff at Abbeville General Hospital, Dr. Ronald Lahasky and his staff, Eastridge Nursing Center, Acadiana Home Health Care, Southern Care Hospice and the ladies in the dietary department at Abbeville General Hospital. The family would like to give special thanks to their special friend, Annetta LeBlanc for all that she has done for them.
