Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Mission Chapel honoring the life of Lercy “Troy” O’Brien, 45, who died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Cedric Sonnier officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Theresa H. O'Brien of Kaplan; his mother, Hazel O'Brien Vallery of Kaplan; his step-father, John Paul Vallery of Kaplan; two sons, Derek O'Brien of Kaplan and Cedric W. Harris of Kaplan; one daughter, Kristiana O'Brien of Kaplan; two brothers, Tawaski O'Brien and his wife, Monica of Kaplan and Jamal Grant and his wife, Deborah of Kaplan; three sisters, Fabiola and her husband, Eddie Young of Baker, Lenether Watson of Jennings, and Carla and her husband, Jimmy Perry of Kaplan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lercy O'Brien Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Roland Evans and Viola Evans; his paternal grandparents, Lercy O'Brien Sr. and Mildred Rushion O'Brien.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services with a rosary being prayed at 8:30 a.m.
